Celebrating Work !!

" YEAH RIGHT !! " Those are the words that pop into my mind whenever I hear my company's slogan. They are not entirely wrong though. We are celebrating alright but I am not too sure about the work part. Most of the times its boring with occasional bouts of exasperation.

Unlike Zaphod's case , I am unfortunately not entirely free nor are am I totally involved in projects. We are just given some stupid tasks to complete. Ok. enough about the work part. (there is nothing more to say about it.) There is one clarification I would like to make.

There is no new 'flame' as someone called it. Been trying to keep out of this "love" buisness. Been in it for a while and havent found it in good taste. Once bitten twice shy I guess.

What else...What else...Ahhh !! Beasthu and DD were at my place the other day. we had actually planned for dinner outside but DD, as always delayed and we ended up watching Band of brothers over biriyani at my place. Had a very "good" breakfast the next day. Thanks to DD's
"excellent" recommendation. All in all it was a welcome break in my monotonous weekend schedule of doing absolutely nothing.

Will keep updating in this place often. Untill then Ta.

Turning lead to gold

disclaimer : The title of the post has nothing to do with the post itself.

So I'm all settled in at pune. Got a flat with some colleagues from office and going to office everyday(for two hours a day only). Getting paid and I'm not sure what I should be doing with my money.

Pune is a nice place. Really hot girls and very nice weather. I sort of like it. Reminds me of secunderabad. It is weird to be staying away from my parents finally. Definitely not homesick, but I miss having a computer.
Maybe I should buy one soon. And an internet connection. Then I can take up some new RTS game and waste away for another few years :P

There is no work at office yet. I'm hoping it stays like that for a while.
No interesting stories to tell from here. Interesting things don't ever seem to happen to me! lol.

About my phone number...it hasn't been activated yet. So as soon as it is(and I find out what the number is), I'll update everyone.

When are you firangs coming back home?

Advice Time

Jeet-Use protection :P (seat belts and suchlike, okay!)
Neeru-Get a car too?
Abhi-Stop studying.
Razor-ah. nevermind. He's not going to see this anyway.

until later.

How to ruin your own reputation

some funny shit which happened here:

#1
(after having something at sonic I and 2 other guys were going home.then one guy asked me...)
friend: hey, I am going to the lab, so will you come there?
me: no, I come only in my bedroom.

you must have seen the face of that american who heard me say this :P ,(damn she was hot!)

#2
(on the door of my bedroom I have this written..)
"Enter the room with footwear to get your balls busted...
note:girls don't take advantage of the above statement
"
a girl next door comes and sees that, and reminds me that even girls have balls. lol :P . damn

#3
(this is a perfect example of how to ruin your own reputation)
the girl next door(a different one): hey , wassup?
me: (without lifting my head)nm, just watching porn.

she immediately leaves the place slam shutting the door before I can say that I was just kidding. :((

thats all for now! will post again pretty soon.

Driving into that one way street!

Literally! I did it last night..no lights...my gps dead..suddenly..traffic is coming at me and im like....WTF im in an effing one way! Anyways, looks like a lot of ppl do get into this situation and theres a sign board right in front of me that said "facing the wrong direction?..turn here". So, here I am, still in one piece.

So this semester has been extremely bittersweet. The bitter part was the coursework and the research and the sweet part was all about getting paid and laid (before you start churning those brains of yours, the paid and laid parts are in two completely different situations that have absolutely nothing in common).

Two more weeks of this semester and then a ...wait...frig..I just realised..i dont get a goddamn vacation..i have to work during the frikkin holidays when everybody's gone having fun!

About Niru, last I heard, he was having so much money that he dint know what to do with it. So hes going around buying two of everything (he has a zune AND an ipod..) Send that money over here, willya?

Keshav: Last i heard, he eloped to pune, got a mobile phone and decided not to share the number.

And I hope the Beast is doing what he likes most at IISC.

Ohh, and pavan should join this place and keep us updated on his new (old?) flame.

anyways, I miss you guys!

-love,
Abhijit

My First sem is almost over and guess what...

I am fucked. haha. Seriously, One of four exams is done and i really fucked it up pretty badly. I'll just pass I guess. Got 3 more exams. The last is on 10th and I'll be going back home on the 13th of Dec. I'll be visiting our college once while I'm there and will post something about my trip there.
Though I got fucked, I got to learn a lot of things during the process. Thats all about IISc for now I guess.
Acads apart. I really miss you guys. I wish everyone was here. I am sure you guys would have had a LOT of fun here. I really want to kick you guys for not being here with me :(
Tiji and Niru, if you guys cant post, atleast read our posts :P and comment ofcourse.
Niru, if you can, invite Pavan also to the list of bloggers here.

I'll post more later.

Step 2: post-training

I've finally finished training.
Survived two entire months without too much brain damage.

Got posted in Pune. So I'll be leaving this saturday.
Hoping for a nice time there. Not too much work hopefully.

It's been a really boring last two months.
Most of the time, I'm really don't know what I'm doing. It is really weird.

Well, nothing much to write about.
Will get a phone when I get to pune.

Jeet and Neeru, how busy are you guys?
Is life in the US of A so very interesting?

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a better time than I am.

TCS blows.

It's been a week and three days so far.

Everything sucks so bad.
Training is so darned boring. Little sections of my mind are resigning. They protest against the sheer dullness of it all.

Nothing goes on at all. We have some stupid "life skills" classes where they teach us absolute crap.
Technical stuff is even more boring than usual.
Business classes are well beyond my understanding.

I sleep through an average of 3 sessions out of 4 a day.

Staying in some hotel at Abids, for some reason. Leave for CMC(Gachibowli)
around 7 AM.
Leave CMC at 6 PM and get back to the hotel around 8 PM. Dinner, sleep, wake up, next day.

Didn't think anything could be worse than college.
Whenever you think life can't get worse, you get thrown into this amazing deep pit and life laughs right in your face.

I don't have a roomie. Staying alone in a room for two.(which is good)
Have no friends. All boring people. And I'm not even trying to make friends. In fact I try to stay away from everyone in my batch. I'm not sure why though!

I've been counting each day off, during the week. And now each week off.
So now it is 1 down, 7 weeks to go.

Wrote the CDSE last sunday. Should get through without much of a problem.
So far so good in that direction then. Lets see what happens in february.

Access to the internet once-a-week, when I come back home for the weekends.

No plans to get myself a cell-phone. Still don't see a reason to.

Apparently I'm some sort of rebel at the training. All the facilitators(Lecturers are called 'facilitators' here. I wonder why) already know my name. Some hate me, like everywhere else. I'm the only guy with long'ish' hair and the HR guys asked me to cut it twice. I said no.

Forced to wear a tie and stuff. Didn't do that either for a few days, but they pulled out some official looking thing that said very clearly that you are supposed to wear a tie from monday through thursday. (I'm sure they'll have one ready for hair-length sometime soon)

Very bored. Hate the training. Wipro was a zillion times better. Wish I was back there.
Wish I was back in 4-2 with you guys. Bunking college was so satisfying. Can't do the same here.

Love.

Getting fucked already lol

The first month was wonderful. Not much work, quite a few holidays, etc. The second month is just 16 days old and I am royally fucked. Two exams and both of them I did TERRIBLE. There is too much work to do atm and its only going to increase :(

Coming to other things, I am going to buy a lappy and will very soon be getting a single room too :D
Ive almost stopped playing badminton etc because ive got no fucking free time. Also, theres no one here who I can say WTF to. No one understands what lol is. lol. Not many people used internet as much as we all did :P

Tiji and Niru I hope will soon post.

Hello World :(

My last day of utter joblessness!
I'm devastated. I had such a good time doing absolutely nothing for the past four-five months.
Even better than doing nothing was letting everyone know that I was doing nothing at all while they were slogging away at Work/College.

Training starts this wednesday. I've got to go report there on monday.
I will go on tuesday(old habits die hard. esp. bunking habits)

I've hardly played any AoC in the last month. Except for a couple of games I played yesterday, and a few games at that tourney in B'lore. Gave up playing on gp/igz sometime in July...around the same time Abhi left for college. And yeah, you were right Abhi. You don't actually miss playing the game. When I played yesterday though, I had so much fun and again thought that I really should be missing the game :P

Jeet called up a couple of times. Made me so damn jealous. He's going to an Allman Bros. Concert! Lucky Bum! Would you believe that was the first time I wondered about what life would be like out there. And how things would have been if I'd made a different choice regarding further studies.

Neeru is obviously busy doing whatever it is he does there. No time to call/message/spam/blog/scrap/mail.
Oh, and good job getting your RA's, both of you. Proving our old point about us being 'Above average students' :P. Abhi's making up for me in that department! lol.

IISc is such a rox place. Seems like Abhi really belongs there. It's the sort of environment he's always wanted. I'm sure you'll own everything, everyone soon!
oh. Post the pics you took when we met up, would you.

And Jeet and Neeru too. Post pics of college, girls(more priority to this) and bootleg files from the Allman Bros. concert(highest priority here :P)

I wonder how TCS will be. Hopefully I won't be there too long, but I don't want to have
too bad an experience.

Haven't been in touch with any of our classmates. Most recent was Jeet when he called and Abhi when I met him. lol.

This is probably the furthest I can get from my usual posts.
A change for the new blog I suppose, but with work starting so soon, life doesn't seem so funny any more :P

Off now, for lunch.
I'll catch up with you guys later!
Take care and good luck etc. etc.

Life changes so fast!

Just 2 weeks ago, i was playing AoC 24x7 and just enjoying life doing nothing. And today, I am here typing as fast as i can to get back to the room asap and study computer architecture! I still cant believe it has all changed so fast. surprisingly i neither miss AoC nor the life I lead 2 weeks back. The only things I miss here are my family and friends. Though I have made some friends, they are not like the friends i made in Btech.

Coming to the life here, its a very different atmosphere here. The professors here are very good esp. for the courses I have taken. Also, I have taken courses looking at who teaches the course lol. I chose the best professors + the subjects that interested me with about 50% weightage each. My subjects right now are
1. Design and Analysis of Algorithms,
2. Computer Architecture
3. DBMS and
4. Modeling and Simulation.
The professors here dont teach in the classes. They just tell us what to read and I feel thats the way it should be at this level. They dont answer Qs but just raise them and its left to us to find the answer and they say they believe we learn more if we find the answers by ourselves - which i feel is true. Hope this wasnt too boring to read but anyway, I am done.

Eager to hear from u guys too!
